![]() ![]() Liberty Square was an idea by Walt Disney for a land at Disneyland way back in the early 1960s. (Photo by Mark Eades, Orange County Register/SCNG) Sam the Eagle, one of the patriotic Muppets, appears at the top of the building during a live Muppet show that plays in the area daily. It was originally supposed to be placed at Disneyland, but lack of room forced it to be put into the Florida theme park. It was originally conceived by Walt Disney, and much of the original concept work for the attraction was done while he was alive. The Hall of Presidents is the central attraction for Liberty Square in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The square is located to the left of the Central Plaza (the Hub) between Adventureland and Fantasyland. Take a step back in time to 1776, when independence was on the minds of many in the fledgling United States of America – that is what Liberty Square evokes at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
